This collection of pure fruitwood smoking chips will bring a range of delicious smoky flavours to your outdoor cooking. The kit includes four fruit tree woods, Pear, Apricot, Apple, Cherry, each delivering a slightly different flavour for hot smoking projects on a regular BBQ. Accompanied by a 4 page leaflet with directions, tips & techniques together with a selection of plant based BBQ recipes and our 'Light My Fire' matches. And, because increasingly BBQ is not just about meat, we've focussed our recipes on vegetarian and vegan BBQ with some delicious results shared in the leaflet. Recipes include Apple smoked Hasselback Sweet Potatoes, Cherry smoked Rainbow Stir Fry, Pear smoked Courgettes, Asparagus and Mini Gems. Enclosed in the printed gift box are 4 individually packed woods with a botanical theme, each weighing in at around 200g. The chips size is 6 to 10mm which is perfect for hot smoking on a BBQ or smoker, charcoal or gas. Just add a handful of your choice of chips into a homemade foil pouch (or smoker box if you have one) and place directly on your heat source once open flames have died back and, keeping the heat medium to low, closed your BBQ lid and cook gently. The food will be infused with smoky flavours as they cook. Although we thought these flavours were perfect paired with plant based foods, they are equally lovely with meats, poultry and fish. All our woods are 100% natural and sourced sustainably from managed European orchards. They are produced specifically for food use and if stored in a cool dry place will last for at least 2 years.
